I thought for this one time we can switch things up and post the statistics before the race report.
Final Statistics from 2008 New York City Marathon
Official Time - 3:02:30 ; Pace – 6:57 min/mile
Grade – A+; PR by 5:58 !
Overall Place – 1105/37899 (2.9%)

Thanks to all who spectated, cheered, stalked, tracked, volunteered, and otherwise supported me through this amazing journey. If only I could give you all a virtual hug for all the encouragement; it really got me to the finish line faster than I ever imagined. Since I can’t, I’ll pay back everyone by writing the best race report I can.
Stay tuned, and thanks again.

Congratulations!!
I looked at your stats and it looks like you ran a great, smart race. When it gets down to it, 26.2 miles is just such a long way to go. And you did it in style.
So what is next? Do I get to meet you at Boston '09?
Congrats again and best of luck with your well deserved recovery.

Hello! I recently came across your blog because I am currently training to run my first marathon (Philadelphia) and reading about your experiences has been such an inspiration! Congrats on your amazing time on Sunday!
I'm also commenting because I have a question for you. I read an article today about the dangers of running marathons that has left me feeling very uneasy. Here is the link: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27460551/
I am curious to hear your opinion on what they are saying, especially since you have a medical background. What do you think? Should marathon runners and people who run these long distances be worried?
Wow, great job in NYC! Way to hit that A+ goal. Cheers!
I kept reading about your fast marathon, so I thought I would come over to congratulate you! well done!
Congratulations! Fantastic job! I'm very happy for you.
